How can you breathe in that? |
A Fit to be Tied corset is custom drafted to your own measurements. How tight you lace it is your own affair, but you don't have to tie it tight! A snug fit will keep you looking and feeling beautiful without interfering with your breathing. And your posture will be perfect all night.

Didn't our fore-mothers fight to get us out of corsets? |
True enough, but corsets these days are all about feeling beautiful and sexy. Corsets are about reclaiming the power to be sexy in whatever body you have. Skinny or curvy or voluptuous. Reclaim your right to be beautiful and sexy and powerful. Reclaim a notion of beauty that includes you!

Aren't they uncomfortable? |
Not at all. The trick is in the custom drafting of each corset. I start with basic patterns and modify them based on your exact measurements leaving a four inch gap at the back for squishability. It is simply not good enough to chose a corset based on a rough dress size and bra cup. The proportions of hips to waist to bust and back must all be taken into consideration. Then your Fit to be Tied Corset will fit like a hug. You'll be able to wear it for hours without feeling tired, and best of all, even after hours of wearing your corset, you will still look spectacular!

I'd love a corset, when I lose some weight! |
It breaks my heart every time I hear this. Most women I know are dissatisfied with some part of their body. Most would like to loose some pounds, or tone something, or just be something other than what they are! At Fit to be Tied, we believe strongly that every woman is beautiful and sexy no matter what size or shape she is. Right now. This minute. It's a fallacy that if you diet like crazy and work your butt off in the gym that you will have a super model figure. Genetics have determined your basic shape and although everyone should keep active and eat well, there is only so much you can do to change you shape in the gym. What you can do is love your body and show it off to it's best advantage. A Fit to be Tied corset will smooth out your lines and make pudgy into luscious. They say that a corset will take every ounce of fat on your body and make it cleavage. I'm not so sure about that, but listen to what one of my customers wrote: I put on my corset this morning in under thirty seconds. And then I looked in the mirror. I haven't felt good about my body in twenty years, but when I looked in the mirror, I almost started to cry. I can't thank you enough. I am determined now to find just the right pants or skirt to wear with it. Let me give you the body you always wanted. It's already in there.

Why should I pay for a custom corset when I can get one at a lingerie store or on-line? |
Commercially available corsets are made with elastic panels to make up for the lack of precision in the cut, and plastic bones. They are rarely lined. The elastic panels simply do not give proper support, allowing any bulges, lumps and bumps to show through. The plastic bones will warm up against your skin and then when you bend over, the plastic bends, kinks and over time, stays bent. The next time you put on the corset, the plastic bones are digging into your waist and the corset has taken on an unpleasant roll in the middle. Quite simply commercial corsets are good for one or two wearings, but they won't last and will never have the superior support and lovely classic lines of a custom corset.

Aren't you going to fall out of it? |
I actually get this question a lot and it surprises me. As you can see from the pictures on the lacing instruction page, I'm not heavily endowed, even if some of my clients are! You will not fall out of a Fit to be Tied corset, like you might from a commercial corset. The steel bones will not collapse under the weight of your bust, no matter how big you are!
|
How do I wash it? |
Well, all that steel makes these corsets dry clean only, I'm afraid. Spot cleaning on the outside will be dependant on what you have the shell made of. This is why some sort of camisole of chemise is a good idea for corset's that you will wear a lot. And, you'll want to wear them a lot! |
